OER offers free, downloadable textbooks needed for many college and adult basic education subjects. It is a service provided by the government of British Columbia, Canada, available to anyone with computer access. Each of the following hyperlinks brings you to that subject’s page of downloadable textbooks. You can check out their website here:

Directions to download textbooks from OER

Prior to downloading, create a folder for the textbook(s) to go. You don’t need a separate folder for each. They can all go into one. If you are downloading multiple books on different subjects, you may want to create a subfolder for each subject within the folder you just created.

 

• Scroll down the list and choose the topic you are interested in and click on the hyperlink.

• That will bring you to the list of all the textbooks available for that subject.

• Click on the title of the book(s) you want, which brings you to that textbook’s page.

• On the right side, under the cover picture, find “Get This Book” 

• Click on READABLE, then DOWNLOAD Digital PDF. 

• A new window will open on the 1st page of the textbook. 

• Click on the down arrow, in the upper right corner of the screen, to save it.

• Be sure to put it in the correct created file.
